MCDM elections and Bylaws amendment proposal: RESULTS!

Dear Colleagues,

The 2026 elections for the renewal of the Executive Committee of the International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making, as well as the vote on the proposed amendment to the Society’s bylaws, have now concluded.

We would like to thank the 518 members of the Society who participated in the vote and expressed their preferences.

The following individuals have been elected to the Executive Committee (listed in alphabetical order):

  • Xavier Gandibleux, Nantes University, FRANCE
  • Salvatore Greco, University of Catania, ITALY
  • Murat Koksalan, University of Michigan, USA
  • Ralph E. Steuer, University of Georgia, USA

We extend our congratulations to Xavier, Salvatore, Murat, and Ralph on their election. We also wish to express our sincere gratitude to Carlos Henggeler Antunes, Danielle Morais, Caroline Mota, Ilker Topcu, and Margaret M. Wiecek for making themselves available as candidates for the Executive Committee.

I would also like to inform you that the proposed amendment to the Society’s bylaws, providing for the Secretary of the Society to become a member of the Executive Committee, has been approved.

Section 3 of the bylaws now reads as follows:

ARTICLE III

OFFICERS

Section 1. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The Executive Committee consists of the President of the Society, President-Elect, Immediate Past-President, Vice-President of Finance, Newsletter Editor, Chairman of the Awards Committee, Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis, Secretary and eight other members. In addition, the Executive Committee includes two other ex officio members: the Chairmen of the last and next scheduled International Conferences of the Society. There may be three such members of the Executive Committee, if the Chairman of the subsequent International Conference has already been named. In addition, the Executive Committee may invite Past-Presidents to serve on the Committee.
